About the Brand

Castle Forbes have been producing luxury men's shaving products since 1996 from the perfumery at Castle Forbes in the Vale of Alford, Aberdeenshire in Scotland. Their products are free from parabens and added colours and only include pure essential oils. Using unique and handcrafted formulations with natural ingredients they are able to produce shaving products that perform like no other brand available.

On my second tub after trying the Castle Forbes sandalwood. While I quite enjoyed the sandalwood I still consider the lavender to be the Rolls Royce of shaving creams and will probably use no other from now on. Please don't change the formula!

I've been using this shaving cream for a fortnight so I feel able to now comment. Scent is very appealing without being overwhelming and smells authentic. I found it is easier to wet my brush, squeezing off the excess, before swirling around the tub. The cream is very concentrated so only a small amount is needed when loading one's brush. This concentration points to value. I expect the tub to last quite a long time and I'm sure in accordance with the guideline longevity provided by the manufacturer. So smells good, you don't need much and the lather is thick and very easy to make. These are not the reasons I will be buying this product again. The reason is how my face feels afterwards. My skin is no longer dry after a shave and indeed feels nourished, smooth and conditioned. This is a brilliant product well worth the extra cash, much of which will come back to the shaver by way of the larger tub (200ml) and more concentrated formulation. Having tried four other brands, all things being equal, I won't be moving away from Castle Forbes shaving cream.

Absolutely first class!
This explodes into fluffy lather that provides an irritation-free, smooth shave. Very little is required and the lavender is a very authentic scent - maybe not as fresh or as interesting as other creams but I find to be the smoothest and best performer of the Castle Forbes shaving creams. The 'after the shave' feeling will leave you wondering why you didn't use this product before!

This shaving cream comes in at the higher price than some of the others .but you do get more in the tub having shaved with it I can confirm one swirl of the shaving brush in the tub will build up luxurious rich abundant lather enough for 3 passes. Smells divine and gives superior shave leaving the face refreshed and exfoliated .exellent cream would highly recommend .TSC brilliant as usual.
