Futur Safety Razor Brushed Chrome

I’ve been using this for some years. It is really well made and looks fantastic. I like the ability to tailor the “closeness”. However it is slightly too heavy for my tastes. More importantly I am not convinced by the shape of the head which is quite thick. The method for changing the blades is not optimal.

The look and feel of this razor is quite something - reminiscent of a submarine with a sturdy adjustment mechanism and a locking head that feels secure with no play. In terms of the shave, this is my first DE razor and I'm thoroughly impressed with the closeness of shave that I've been able to achieve with this. I love a close shave and now I can get one closer than I've ever had before even in those tricky areas like the chin, which always seemed to remain like a brillo pad despite multiple passes; all this and no razor burn! The adjustment mechanism on this is fantastic and so far I've been using 3.5 for the first pass with the grain followed by the mildest setting for going against the grain. Couldn't be happier with this razor. Quick delivery with some bonus goodies was appreciated too.

I like adjustable safety razors.
Futur is very well engineered. Looks so cool. Heavy and well balanced.
I was afraid not to be able to shave daily with Futur. (Because i nearly always shave every morning. ) At the setting 1 you can have very comfortable shaves daily routin.
Futur has became my one of the favourite safety razor . But Progress is still Number One.
If Futur would be a little smaller, it could be the greatest safety razor.
Do not waste time, order one and try!

I have given this a couple of months before posting this review. The Futur is my first DE razor which I bought on the basis of it' s adjustability. Up to two months ago I had used a cartridge razor for as long as I can remember and I am not exactly a youngster. Increasingly I had become dissatisfied with the shave quality from the cartridge system and decided to give DE shaving a bash.
I have not been disappointed and wish I had discovered this years ago. Starting on a setting of 1, I had a couple of very small nicks for the first two weeks whilst I got the hang of it, since then it has been a revelation producing a closer shave than I have ever had and with no razor burn.
The razor itself is reassuringly heavy as far as I am concerned and superbly well built. Having read a few reviews I have noticed some negative comments about fitting and removing blades and the difficulties about shaving difficult areas under the nose etc. I find the blade replacement easy and have not personally had too much difficulty shaving in the hard to access areas.
I understand that I am new to all this and can only comment on this razor but having wet shaved for decades with a cartridge system this has worked out to be an inspired purchase for me. I do of course understand that there may well be many DE razors out there which perform equally well but I certainly have no regrets buying the Futur.

Very nice razor, good build quality. Gives a nice smooth save, plus it looks ultra modern.
