This is an excellent razor that gives a close comfortable shave when used with Astra blades. It takes a little longer than a quick whip round with the likes of a Mach 3, but the shave and the whole experience is so much better. It's a hell of a lot cheaper too.



The screw on the head plate sheared off after about a year of use, but a new head plate was supplied free of charge and without fuss - great service.

This is my first entry into DE Shaving and found this razor a pleasure to use, nicely weighted but does need to be combined with the best blade for your own personal face. The Derby blades were very "average" but were OK for practicing the technique in an inconspicuous area. For myself, the Astra Platinum have been the best blades for it with Feather blades due for delivery this week. Must say the Wilkinson Sword blades gave me my worst razor burn in years and that was with a single pass. May well get a second with a longer handle so I can have one in the travel bag and the other for "everyday".

After deciding to return to a safety razor after several years of multi blade shaving this is a great razor at a very reasonable price. I bought it as a package with Lemon Lime Shaving Creme and a brush and the difference is tremendous. The only drawback is having to get up 15 minutes earlier in the morning so that I can take my time over it.

Bought to replace two year old Muhle R89 on which the thread wore out.
First class service from traditionalshaving.co.uk; ordered for FOC delivery and received two days later, well packaged with some fudge in the carton. Five Derby blades were included which I'll keep for shaving the back of my neck - they won't be going near my face/beard!
Looks and feels like a great razor; great polished finish which looks like it'll last.
